Heat Networks - Pre-Construction Project Manager
About the Role
Base Location: Midlands, North England, Scotland | We're proud to offer a Flexible First approach to work, and this role is no exception. We will, however need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSE offices or depots around the UK and Ireland.
Salary: £40,600 - £61,000 + car /car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Working Pattern: Permanent or Fixed Term Contract or Secondment | Full Time or Part Time | Flexible First options available.
Reporting to the Lead Pre-Construction Manager, the Pre-Construction Manager will take ownership for pre-construction activities on allocated heat networks opportunities. This will include early-stage feasibility of the works, compiling stakeholder and risk registers, supporting the estimation team and engineering teams on early outputs and attending third party meetings and site visits ahead of handover to the construction team.
Key Responsibilities:
* Responsible for ensuring allocated opportunities are scrutinised for feasibility.
* Take ownership for identifying construction risks and costs ahead of each development stage.
* Support the engineering team in optioneering based upon buildability.
* Act as the team representative in planning site works.
* Be the point of contact for our clients and wider external stakeholders on construction aspects of the project.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
* Site-based experience in the delivery of Heat Networks.
* Working understanding of BS EN 13941.
* Competent in the use of MS Excel, MS PowerPoint & MS Word.
* Experience of producing and reviewing critical construction documentation such as RAMS and CPP.
* Experienced in quantifying construction risks and communicating these within a project team.
