As a Bartender at The Loopy Shrew in Shrewsbury, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of beverages, ensuring that all guests receive prompt, professional, and friendly service. Your role involves mixing and serving drinks, maintaining a clean bar area, and providing an excellent customer experience to enhance the overall atmosphere of our establishment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Beverage Preparation:
o Prepare and serve a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks according to standard recipes.
o Ensure the bar is stocked with necessary supplies, such as spirits, mixers, garnishes, and glassware.
o Handle special requests and create custom cocktails to meet guest preferences.
2. Customer Service:
o Greet guests warmly and engage in friendly conversation to enhance their experience.
o Take drink orders from guests and servers, and serve drinks promptly and accurately.
o Monitor guest behavior and ensure responsible alcohol service, adhering to legal guidelines and company policies.
3. Bar Maintenance:
o Keep the bar area clean and organized, including washing glassware and maintaining bar equipment.
o Monitor inventory levels and restock supplies as needed, informing the Bar Manager of any shortages.
o Perform regular cleaning duties, including sanitizing workstations and removing trash.
4. Process transactions accurately, handling cash and card payments.
5. Ensure that the cash register balances at the end of each shift, reporting any discrepancies to the manager.
6. Work closely with other front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and a cohesive team environment.
7. Assist in training new bar staff as required.
8. Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive work culture.
9. Health and Safety:
o Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food and beverage handling procedures.
o Maintain personal hygiene and grooming standards in line with company policy.
o Report any health or safety concerns to the manager immediately.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Experience: Previous bartending experience in a high-volume environment is preferred.
* Mixology Knowledge: Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wines, beers, and beverage preparation techniques.
* Customer Focus: Exceptional customer service skills with a friendly and outgoing personality.
* Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills to interact effectively with guests and colleagues.
