What you’ll do: Some of the key deliverables of this role are as follows: Strategically manage the programme delivery function to ensure effective and efficient operations. Implement and oversee a robust programme delivery governance and assurance regime. Develop and apply a programme controls strategy to deliver efficient outputs for delivery teams and management. Manage a procurement strategy for delivery partners, maintaining a forecast view of demand. Build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers. Monitor and manage cost control practices to ensure quality, safety, and improved efficiency within budget constraints. Define and promote a safe and efficient delivery culture across the programme team. Communicate effectively and regularly with the team to ensure a clear understanding of business objectives and priorities. Manage resource utilisation effectively, including assessing subcontract labour and developing apprentices. Assist the Project Management team in developing project delivery strategies, including mobilisation and competence training. Foster and maintain strong customer relationships through effective communication and assist during site activities and inspections. Manage Inter-disciplinary Design Reviews (IDRs) to ensure designs are actionable and minimise reliance on the design team post-review. Develop staff competencies through technical training, professional development, and certifications to aid career progression. Conduct Health & Safety inspections and tours on-site to uphold safety standards. Participate in accident and incident investigations, contributing to the TelSafe process and other safety measures. Maintain an up-to-date register of all active worksites. Regularly review working practices and contribute to ‘Lessons Learnt’ forums to share and implement best practices. Assist budget and forecast generation and management to ensure financial alignment with programme objectives. Who you are: Key requirements: The responsibilities for this role include: Leadership of programme business transformation activity as required, including ownership of the operating model and associated team organisation Provide strategic leadership for programme delivery, including business transformation activities and operating model development. Promote and implement best practices across the team to deliver customer-focused, value-for-money services aligned with KPIs. Lead and mentor the team, fostering capability development and encouraging cross-functional collaboration to achieve objectives. Manage support contracts, associated work banks, and specialist subcontractors, ensuring alignment with Telent’s Control of Works processes. Govern financial performance, supporting P&L owners to meet business financial targets. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety (HSE) standards, including Safe System of Work (SSOW) practices, and review and approve RAMs. Foster a culture of safety and quality, minimising rework and delivering fit-for-purpose products and services. Continuously develop staff competencies through training and development programs, meeting all regulatory and business requirements. Oversee financial management of overhead budgets and team costs to ensure operational efficiency. Maintain and enhance vehicle tracking systems to improve fatigue and risk management. Develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external customers, ensuring seamless collaboration. Support the creation and implementation of project delivery strategies, mobilisation plans, and training needs identification. Conduct regular site inspections and safety tours to uphold standards and improve practices. Participate in accident investigations and lessons learned forums, ensuring continuous improvement across the team. You will need to demonstrate: Bachelor's Degree in a Technical or Project Management related field or equivalent experience. Formal PM Qualification (APM, PMP, Prince 2) or equivalent experience. Experience to develop strategic business plans and develop strategic operating models for a delivery organisation. Knowledge of financial and commercial controls and reporting requirements, including business planning. Knowledge and understanding of application of SHE in project environment (CDM and CSM).
