What You Need To Know Reporting directly to the Operations Manager IWOCS, the purpose of the role is to control all Skene Facility IWOCS workshop functions including the safe and efficient mobilisation, demobilisation, maintenance and repair of company and customer owned equipment as well as the workshop and yard facilities. The role will involve the coordination and control of a dedicated workshop team, which includes offshore technicians when allocated to the workshop. It requires close interaction with all members of the IWOCS Team to ensure control of day-to-day workshop operations, including asset utilisation, manpower and the yard. It will also require the building of close working relationships with other Proserv team members including QHSE, engineering and projects teams to ensure operational priorities are met and equipment is ready to meet or exceed customer requirements and expectations. What We Are Looking For Some of the Key Accountabilities: Overall responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the workshop with a view to providing and maintaining a high standard of service provision. Direct management of Workshop Supervisors who will control day to day operations Indirect management of all workshop staff using Workshop Supervisors as required to assist with day-to-day operations and performance discussions Direct management of workshop apprentices with careful consideration being given to assigned mentors, tasks, exposure levels and cross training opportunities Manage and monitor the service and repair of company owned equipment in accordance with defined requirements and assist in improvement of internal procedures to deliver same. Also support Projects Team. Support the Projects Team to deliver service and repair third party owned equipment and to manage the build of new tooling ensuring accurate records are maintained and deadlines met. Ensure a high standard of safety and housekeeping practices are maintained in line with industry, legislative and company standards. Liaise with colleagues across the business as required to ensure customer priorities are understood and targets are met. Issue permits to work for higher risk activities in accordance with company procedure and ensure Workshop Supervisors do similar for more routine day to day activities. Ensure delivery of daily pre-shift meetings to advise team of any relevant information as well as direct and prioritise ongoing work and resource requirements. Ensure ongoing assessment of risk for individual tasks is understood to be an essential part of every role. Ensure traceability on all parts and fittings used in repairs and maintenance and ensure service histories are recorded to a high standard. Liaise with engineering and QC on equipment build and asset reviews to ensure improvements in efficiency of equipment. Support investigation of equipment related non-conformances ensuring timely and effective close out and feedback on actions agreed. Conduct performance reviews, communicate with staff, conduct staff meetings, help in the coordination of business priorities and encourage a team philosophy that invites active and broad participation Assist in the input of work force planning ensuring at all times, the most effective and highly skilled team are put in place. Continually develop personal skills for the effective management and delegation of tasks to team members and guide them in a safe and responsible working manner. Liaise with purchasing colleagues to ensure spares are ordered in a timely and accurate manner. Continually work with workshop personnel to develop skills and competence and identify further areas for development. Ensure Workshop Supervisors sign off concise service records making sure all relevant supporting documentation such as detailed drawings, safety risk assessments and equipment certification is accurate. Manage and guide team throughout work scopes ensuring the completion of all necessary paperwork is in line with defined requirements. Essential Qualifications / Skills & Experience A good level of standard education e.g. Standard Grade Maths and English. Demonstrable people management experience within a mechanical based workshop environment. Experience in the subsea controls IWOCS sector of the oil and gas industry. Practical knowledge of mechanical and hydraulic equipment. Good planning, organisational and interpersonal & communication skills (both written and oral). Track record of improving working practices.
