The Vetting and Disclosure team are looking to recruit a DBS Caseworker on a part time, permanent basis located at Mansfield House, Leicester.
As a DBS Caseworker you will receive and process Information Gathering Requests to enable the Disclosure & Barring Service to make considered decisions about whether a referred individual should be barred from engaging in regulated activity.
What you’ll be doing
-Interrogate computerised systems as required, to obtain information regarding DBS applicants, ongoing and concluded cases, and to update systems as required.
-Identify, investigate, and assess/evaluate any relevant information relating to an applicant and/or family member/associate that may present a potential risk to children and/or vulnerable adults.
-Summarise the findings of research accurately and concisely in legally defendable reports/file summaries to support effective risk-based decision making.
The must haves
-Be educated to GCSE Grade C/Level 4 or equivalent in English Language and/or be able to demonstrate experience of working to that standard.
-Experience of evaluating information from a variety of sources and determining its relevancy to identify key issues and present findings accurately.
-Experience of appropriately handling sensitive, confidential and potentially distressing information.
