Senior Systems Application Engineer – HCM / Financials x 2 roles
Are you an experienced Systems Application Engineer with a passion for HCM or Financials? We are looking for two people, one focused on HCM and the other on Financials.
Our client is building a multi-technology, multi-vendor shared services centre to deliver modern SaaS-enabled services to their growing client base. As part of their Enterprise Applications team, you will be immersed in innovative projects that span from upgrading legacy systems to implementing cutting-edge cloud solutions.
What You’ll Do
As a Senior Systems Application Engineer, you’ll work closely with clients, 3rd party suppliers, and system integrators (SIs) to deliver impactful solutions in HCM or Financials. Key responsibilities include:
1. Collaborating with the Programme Team and SIs to replace, upgrade, and improve people and system processes in the areas of HCM and/or Financials.
2. Leading workshops, providing expertise, and guiding technical, architectural, and design solutions.
3. Documenting system requirements, enhancements, and regulatory changes with a high degree of accuracy.
4. Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and key stakeholders, ensuring clear communication across teams.
5. Supporting testing activities, tracking issues, and driving resolution to ensure smooth system implementations.
6. Contributing to the continuous improvement of business processes, sharing insights and best practices.
What We’re Looking For
1. A strong background in Workday Cloud or ERP systems - HCM, Payroll, Finance, Workforce Planning, and Analytics.
2. A proven ability to coordinate work across diverse teams and build strong, professional relationships.
3. Experience documenting requirements and functional specifications for system enhancements.
4. Experience working in a formal Agile environment and with ITSM tools.
5. Test development experience.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
1. Experience with Oracle ERP (e-Business or Fusion) and data migration activities.
2. Background from a shared service environment.
3. Experience as a team lead for small projects or system implementations.
4. Knowledge of PL/SQL, JavaScript, and BI Publisher or similar.
5. Familiarity with integration tools such as PenServer and HMRC.
6. Understanding of project delivery methodologies like Prince2, SAFe, and Agile and proprietary products such as Jira and ServiceNow.

Remuneration includes up to £50,500 annual salary and a fantastic contributory pension.
