About the Opportunity:
NRL are working with an established, forward-thinking company who are currently on the lookout for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. This role offers the perfect opportunity to take control of commercial management on a variety of exciting projects, where you’ll be driving profitability and managing relationships with clients and subcontractors. What You’ll Be Doing:
- Overseeing the commercial management of your assigned projects, ensuring they run smoothly and profitably.
- Maximising margins and ensuring healthy cash flow across all projects you manage.
- Building strong relationships with clients and subcontractors to keep everything running on track.
- Mentoring junior team members, helping them grow in their roles and supporting their career development.
- Managing the financial side of the projects, including subcontractor accounts, valuations, and financial reporting.
- Negotiating contract variations and ensuring everything is done in a timely, professional manner.
- Taking ownership of the final accounts for both main contracts and subcontractors.
- Working closely with your team to ensure all processes and protocols are followed, ensuring consistency and quality.
What You’ll Need:
- Solid experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within construction or engineering.
- A strong understanding of financial reporting, forecasting, and cost management.
- Experience with contract administration, valuations, and variations.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills – you’ll be working with a lot of different people!
- A passion for mentoring and developing the next generation of surveyors.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- The ability to see the bigger picture and manage project risks and opportunities effectively.
