Assistant Management Accountant Job Description As the Assistant Management Accountant based in Forres, you will be responsible for:- - Month end close - assist in the month end close procedures on Orbex's recently installed ERP system and working with the Financial Controller to ensure that all month end close tasks are completed within agreed timelines. - Management Accounts - assist with specific tasks in the preparation of the monthly Management Accounts. - Balance Sheet Reconciliation - own and manage selected general ledger reconciliations. Reconciling and understanding the numbers behind the results and resolving reconciling items monthly. - Helping to resolve project managers/engineers' queries on their project spend. - Maintenance of Expenditure Approval request register; advising managers/engineers on the completion of their Expenditure Approval request forms and ensuring the correct level of approvals prior to spend. - Budgets and Forecasts - ad-hoc assistance as required in the budget and forecast process and preparation. - Audit - assist during the annual audit with various audit sample requests. Prepare appropriate audit schedules, explanations and reconciliations as required. - Prepare the supporting documentation for the HIE grant claims at regular intervals. - Improvements - continuously look for process improvements, presenting ideas to make the finance function more efficient. Profile - Some experience working in a finance department, ideally with exposure to management accounting. - Basic knowledge of the principles of double entry are required. - Started or part qualified AAT, CIMA or ACCA. - Inquisitive mind and a desire to learn and develop and grow with this exciting company. - Good communication and interpersonal skills. - Pride in your attention to detail and time management skills - Knowledge of Excel functions including pivot tables. Location - Forres Our roles need to be on-site in Scotland due to the nature of the position, export controls and security. This role is based in Forres at Orbex's headquarters.
