An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic andflexible Receptionist to join our busy 5 partner Practice for 36 hours a week or 2 Part Time
Our practice requires highly organised and motivated individualsto provide comprehensive front of house and administrative services to supportthe Practice.
Applicants should have excellent customer service,organisational and computer skills. Knowledge of medical terminology andexperience of the EMIS Web computer system would be an advantage, although fulltraining will be provided to the successful candidate.
The ability to work well within our team and on your owninitiative is essential.
Main duties of the job
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice
Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments.
Using your own judgement and communication skills ensure that patients with no prior appointment but who need urgent consultation are seen in a logical and non-disruptive manner.
Provide care navigation to the most appropriate services for patients.
Receive and make telephone calls as required. Divert calls and take messages, ensuring accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery.
Enter patient information on to the computer as required.
Chaperoning patients and visitors when necessary.

St Georges Medical Centre is a busy Practice with a population size of 9600 patients.
We have a large clinical team of 5 GP partners, 4 Salaried GPs, 3 Practice Nurses, 2 Health care assistants and 1 phlebotomist. We are also a training Practice and currently have 4 GP trainees at the Practice, as well as medical students.
St Georges runs a dedicated community Ophthalmology clinic on site and hosts a number of community services, such as diabetes, podiatry, orthotics and minor surgery.

7. Enterrequests for home visits into the visit book, ensuring careful recording of allrelevant details and where necessary refer to Duty Doctor.
8. Advisepatients of relevant charges for private (non Personal Medical Services)services, accept payment and issue receipts for same.
9. Enterpatient information on to the computer as required.
10. Chaperoningpatients and visitors when necessary.
11. Undertakeany other additional duties appropriate to the post as requested by thePartners, Practice Manager or Reception Manager.

15. IT literate including experience in using Word and Excel at intermediate level.
