My client is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of innovative, high efficiency equipment for the production of ISO plastic cards. Dedicated to progressive technology, they have created a range of primary card production equipment for collation, tape laying, laminating and cutting of ISO standard credit cards and smart cards. A range of systems and automation is offered within each function to suit all sizes of card producer while maintaining the same high quality of card production. My client offers a standard range of machinery for customers to choose from or bespoke machinery is designed and manufactured for specialist applications. My client are currently seeking an experienced Field Service and Commissioning Engineer to work as part of their Service Team. You will be required to work both at their facility in Bedfordshire and customer locations worldwide. This position will include extensive worldwide travel. The role will include: * You will need experience of installing and fault finding a range of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic. Experience with PLC control/drive systems beneficial. * Build and commissioning of machinery at our factory * Factory acceptance tests with our customers at our factory * Installation, site acceptance and operator training at Worldwide customer sites * Technical support for customers via email, phone and on-line connection to machines * Fault finding, repair and routine maintenance of our products worldwide * The ability to remotely connect and fault find machinery via a PC * Adhering and working to health and safety legislations * Adherence to company policies and procedures * Maintaining a clean, organised and productive work area * Complete given tasks in an efficient, fast and friendly manner * Highly organised with excellent attention to detail Skills, Experience, and Qualifications: * Applicable Apprenticeship and / or time served or relevant qualifications (C&G, BTEC or equivalent) * Good inter-personal skills, team work, hands-on approach with effective verbal and written * Good understanding and the ability to read assembly drawings and circuit diagrams. * Good knowledge and use of a PC and knowledge of Word, Excel and Project based software. * Relevant previous experience with PLC control systems and power distribution systems beneficial * Experience of working in a manufacturing environment * Ability to work methodically and to high standards * Ability to be proactive and work with minimal supervision * Experience working on bespoke machines would be desirable
