Join our experienced HNVG night team on a favourable working pattern of 5 nights on (Monday to Friday) followed by 9 nights off, allowing for ample time to not only recharge your batteries but also to pursue your passions outside of work, giving you an excellent work-life balance!

Our well-respected nursing team are actively encouraged to fully utilise their skills and experience and get fully involved in looking after our patients. At HNVG, you will be exposed to a varied and interesting caseload of both medicine and surgical cases, including emergency scenarios in our hospital. The night team at Hook Norton are an integral part of our patient care, with ward rounds and handovers at shift change, we actively encourage the night team to be involved in making patient plans and adjusting them as needed during the night. As part of personal development, we fully support and encourage CPD including further certificates in different specialities.
The ideal Night Nurse candidate would:
* Have a minimum 1 year’s experience as an RVN.
* Have experience with intensive nursing within a GP or referral setting.
* Be able to work to high standards and use your own initiative.
* Hold a valid UK driving license and have your own transport due to rural location.
You will be based at the Hook Norton Hospital where we have all the equipment and facilities needed to help the night team provide exceptional care including:
* Species-specific wards
* Isolation ward and equipment
* Laboratory suite
* Two surgical theatres
* All the usual mod cons including ECG, Multiparameter monitors, Pulse Oximeters and portable ultrasound scanner for FAST scans.
As a Night Nurse, you will work alongside the night vet and also have support from a Nursing assistant for the twilight part of your shift. There are no phone duties included in your shift except patient updates as and when needed.

We are an independent, mixed practice with separate pets, farm and equine departments with over 30 dedicated vets providing round-the-clock care.
Our main branch at White Hills Surgery is a tier 3 Small Animal Hospital under the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) accreditation scheme. This means that we have passed rigorous inspections covering areas such as health and safety, hygiene, the provision of 24-hour cover and clinical governance. All departments have access to on-site laboratory facilities and diagnostic testing.
