As an SEO specialist, you have a genuine interest in SEO and Digital Marketing and will have successfully developed and executed SEO campaigns.
You will have experience with SEO industry programs such as Google Analytics, along with experience with other aspects of marketing including social media and PPC.
As the SEO Specialist, you will be able to identify strategies, techniques, and tactics to increase the number of visitors to our Mercia Group website(s) and obtain a high-ranking placement in the search engine results pages (SERPs). You will also employ (UX & CRO) methods to turn visitors into active users to generate leads and sales.

Job Purpose, Tasks and Responsibilities:
As a Digital Marketing Specialist, you will assist in the planning, execution, and optimisation of our online marketing activities. You will be well-versed in the concepts surrounding digital marketing and how these activities can become a strong asset to securing revenue growth.
You will be working with colleagues at our Wilmington Shared Services function, and you will develop and execute SEO strategies for Mercia Group, including supporting daily updates to our websites, on-page optimisation, technical SEO, keyword research, competitor analysis, and support in the development of our online content strategy.
Your ambition will be to increase the number of visitors to Mercia Group website(s) month on month and obtain a high-ranking placement in the search engine results pages (SERPs). You will employ (UX & CRO) methods to turn visitors into active users to generate leads and sales.
You will work with the Marketing Team to supplement our organic social media strategy, focusing on paid opportunities (Google AdWords etc.) and other social media platforms to reach the target audience.
You will be a team player alongside our management teams to provide expertise and assistance from a digital perspective and work with our design team to ensure all of our online assets are on brand.
You will measure and report performance of our digital marketing campaigns and assess these against goals (return on investment and key performance indicators) and provide future recommendations.
Responsibilities:
1. Develop optimisation strategies to enhance the company's search engine result page rankings.
2. Conduct research on SEO keywords for implementation across the company's website and marketing materials.
3. Conduct regular technical SEO audits and collaborate with the web development team to rectify technical website issues (e.g., slow page load speeds, page crawl errors, and duplicate content) that could negatively impact organic search rankings.
4. Optimise web pages, including the homepage, landing pages, blog posts, and product pages, focusing on improving content quality, keyword optimisation, and user experience to elevate organic search rankings.
5. Monitor website traffic, user behaviors, and other relevant metrics to identify areas for improvement.
6. Provide regular reports and insights on performance to the management team.
7. Implement link-building campaigns through the creation and promotion of linkable assets, outreach, and submission-based link-building.
8. Effectively communicate with all members of the marketing team to ensure alignment of all digital campaigns.
9. Identify and bridge content gaps between the company website and competitor content.
10. Perform competitive analysis to measure current digital performance against a set of KPIs.
11. Plan and supervise the overall website architecture, restructuring page hierarchy as necessary.
12. Stay updated on the latest digital trends, changes, and industry best practices.
13. Keep a keen eye on emerging technologies and digital tools that can enhance our position in the market.
14. Manage related assets, tools/platforms including Google My Business, Google Search Console, Google Analytics 4, Google Data Studio, Google Keyword Planner, Semrush, and Siteimprove among others.
Essential and Desirable Capabilities:

You will also need:
1. Experience in the same or similar role.
2. SEO expertise, competent in conducting technical SEO audits.
3. Experience in creating SEO optimised content.
4. Experience of keyword research and implementation of keywords across brand website.
5. Working knowledge of Google Analytics 4 and ideally Looker Studio.
6. Knowledge of SEO tools ideally Semrush.
