The Governing Body of Lliswerry High School is looking to appoint an enthusiastic and skilled professional to be responsible for the smooth running and effective administration of all examinations (internal and external) and statutory tests in accordance with regulations laid down by awarding bodies.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the school's processes around registration of learners, preparation, and the delivery of an effective examinations programme throughout the school. This will include managing the school's exam Invigilators and overseeing recruitment and retention of additional staff to support exam delivery. In addition, the postholder will oversee the school's data systems, providing strategic and operational data to senior school leaders and the completion and submission of all statutory returns for the local authority and Welsh Government. The role will also include day-to-day line management of the school's Data Officer.
The post holder will also assume responsibility for organising cover for absent staff, which includes receiving messages from staff and allocating the school's cover supervisor team and liaising with external agencies where appropriate to secure temporary cover staff.
Ideal Candidate:
* A proven administrator with experience of managing administrative systems
* Highly motivated and committed
* Able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, including the ability to exercise discretion and work independently
* Well organised and punctual with a professional attitude to work
* Willing to work as part of a dedicated team
* Positive, proactive, with a good sense of humour and someone who is willing to work flexibly to meet the changing needs of the school
* Be an active member of school life and actively subscribe to the ethos of the school
5 of the additional 10 days are to coincide with Exam results days in August. Holidays must be taken during school closure periods.
The appointment process will involve an interview with members of the school leadership team and a selection of Governors.
This position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (1974) and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS).
