Our client based in Hillington, are looking for an experienced Group Financial Controller to join their successful and growing business.
The Group Financial Controller will oversee financial reporting, planning, and analysis for Resource Data Management's UK operations. Reporting directly to the Group CEO, this role will provide key insights into business performance, support strategic financial decisions, and ensure compliance with monthly reporting requirements for Sdiptech through the Cognos system. The Senior Management Accountant will also collaborate with regional accounts teams at our sites in the US, Malaysia, and Taiwan to develop streamlined reporting, providing transparency on focus areas for business transformation and cost management. We are looking for someone who will take on total responsibility aligning with local teams to have financial and ESG reporting on time with high quality. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for all reporting to Sdiptech (Financial, ESG, Internal controls) and for liaising with external contacts such as auditors and accounting partners for each local entity
Key Responsibilities
* Financial Reporting and Analysis
* Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow analysis for the UK entity
* Provide detailed financial analysis and variance reports directly to the Group CEO to support executive decision-making
* Foster transparency across regional operations, facilitating strategic focus and prioritization of operational efficiency
* Regional Collaboration and Simplified Reporting
* Be responsible for local accounts team/local accounting partners in eachentity and ensure compliance with local accounting principles, as well as adhering to Sdiptechs accounting principle
* Ensure timely and accurate financial reports covering key focus areas, and support the Managements need of an overview for business transformation and cost management
* Lead the budgeting and forecasting process, aligning financial plans with business goals
* Review actual results against budgets regularly, identifying areas for cost optimization and performance improvement
* Manage treasury functions and develop cash flow forecasts to support optimal cash positioning in collaboration with Sdiptech
* Ensure compliance with all local and international financial regulations, certifications, and reporting standards
* Oversee internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accurate financial reporting
* Support audits and maintain required documentation for regulatory compliance.
* Own and manage the Cognos reporting system, ensuring timely and accurate monthly submissions for Sdiptech
* Oversee Cognos access control and data integrity, facilitating direct reporting for the Glasgow head office
* Serve as a strategic partner to the Group CEO and senior management team, providing financial insights and recommendations that support the business objectives
* Engage with cross-functional teams to align financial processes with operational needs, driving efficiency and supporting companys growth objectives
* Provide financial advisory for new projects, acquisitions, or investments as the business continues to expand
* Responsibility to ensure company financial compliance and collaborate with external and internal stakeholders to set pricing policies for transactions between entities, optimizing tax efficiency and ensuring transparency
Qualifications and Experience
* Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior management accounting role, ideally within manufacturing or technology sectors.
* Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, and reporting, with expertise in group reporting and consolidation in an international context at a senior level.
* Advanced knowledge of financial management systems, with experience in Cognos or other similar reporting platforms preferred.
* Proficient in Excel and ERP systems, particularly in manufacturing or distribution sectors.
* Strong strategic, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.
* Excellent communication and leadership abilities, capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams and global regions.
* Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
