Construction Estimator

Contract Basis: £300 - £400 P/D
Key Responsibilities:
* Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for fit-out and refurbishment projects, considering all relevant factors such as materials, labour, and overheads.
* Bid Management: Collaborate with the bid management team to develop winning proposals. Ensure all estimates are submitted on time and align with project requirements.
* Vendor and Subcontractor Relations: Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and subcontractors. Obtain competitive quotes and negotiate favourable terms to optimize project costs.
* Risk Analysis: Conduct thorough risk analysis for each project, identifying potential challenges and proposing mitigation strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
* Value Engineering: Provide input on value engineering opportunities to enhance project efficiency without compromising quality.
* Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized documentation of all estimating activities, ensuring transparency and traceability. You will also be required to build your own scope document based on clients' verbal requests.
Qualifications and Experience
* Minimum of 3 years of experience in construction estimating, with a focus on fit-out and refurbishment projects.
* Proficient in estimating software and tools including Excel & MS.
* Strong understanding of construction materials, methods, and industry best practices.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Effective communication and negotiation abilities. Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related field is preferred. You will also require having a good understanding of H&S.
The candidate must have substantial experience in the interiors sector, ideally with a background in trades such as joinery, drylining, suspended ceilings, general building with some M&E knowledge, you will require to have an excellent knowledge in materials and techniques of various interior systems progressing through your career to a Project Manager position, you will be required to work not only under your own control but also as a team player. You will require excellent communicational skills as the role involves close working with our client base and sub-contractors and be an excellent problem solver.
