Women, Children and Families Service Allied Health Professions Highly Specialist Speech & Language Therapist Band 7 18.5 Hours You will work within REACH a multi-disciplinary social work team in Perth and Kinross that provides intensive support to families with multiple complex needs, where there is a likelihood of the young person (aged 12-18) becoming accommodated away from home. You will be expected to assess communication needs of the young people and support those working with them to optimise their interactions to enable positive outcomes. Your role will also include training and coaching Reach team members to be aware of Speech Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) and be knowledgeable about the strategies to support communication. You will bring extensive skills, knowledge and experience in working with secondary school aged children and experience and understanding of how to support children with complex needs across a variety of educational placements. Knowledge and experience of working with neurodevelopment communication conditions is essential and understanding of social work process, systems and practice is desirable. The work is wide ranging and includes joint work with partners in other agencies You will join a supportive team based in Perth where professional development is supported and encouraged. You will be willing to travel to a number of sites across Perth and Kinross.
