We are seeking a Band 6 Specialist Physiotherapist with a passion for neuro rehabilitation to join the team at Northumberland Head Injuries Service (NHIS). NHIS is a specialist community neuro rehab service for patients with traumatic brain injury living in Northumberland.
The successful candidate will provide specialist physiotherapy assessment and rehabilitation for patients with complex neurological conditions. Rehabilitation will be provided to patients across the County at base, in residential care environments, or in the patients' homes.
The service has a robust supervision structure, and the post holder will benefit from access to regular in-service training to further develop their skills.
For this post, you will need to be HCPC registered with a degree/diploma in Physiotherapy and have relevant experience in neuro rehabilitation.
Main Duties of the Job
1. To be responsible for the specialist assessment and management of physiotherapy service provision for service users who have a variety of complex physiotherapy needs, stemming from traumatic brain injury.
2. To manage and provide ongoing specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment using evidence-based practice.
3. The post holder will work as a member of the multi-disciplinary team ensuring that high-quality, individualised care is delivered, maximising independence and promoting recovery and wellbeing.
4. To facilitate and support the delivery of Physiotherapy Student Education within the clinical setting.
5. To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect, and dignity.
6. To provide clinical supervision and leadership to staff as delegated by the team lead.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Recognised Physiotherapy degree qualification or equivalent.
* State registration with HCPC.
* Further relevant post-qualifying training.
* Registered member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
Knowledge and Experience
* Relevant Physiotherapy experience with evidence of neurology experience.
* Experience of or awareness of MDT working.
* Awareness and understanding of professional accountability, HCPC and CSP standards, and other local and national initiatives.
* Proven track record of post-registration clinical experience relevant to the post.
* Experience of working within a multi-disciplinary team.
* Experience of providing Physiotherapy services.
* Awareness of equal opportunities legislation and policies.
* Experience of collaborative working across agencies and professional disciplines.
* Member of ACPIN.
Skills
* Experience of assessment and treatment of neurological conditions including brain injury.
* Evidence of patient-centred approach and knowledge of goal setting.
* Awareness of the impact of behaviour and cognitive problems on rehabilitation.
* Meets the mobility requirements of the post.
* Evidence of post-graduate neurology course.
* Experience of student and Physiotherapy assistant supervision.

This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975, and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
Salary: £37,338 to £44,962 a year pro rata per annum.
