We are looking for a Data & Integration Solution Designer within Exams Technology.The Data & Integration Solution Designer will provide new features and functionalities andcollaborate with a team thatworks efficiently together, in a supportive and rewarding environment. The role involves working with a wide range of stakeholders and will require initiative and excellent verbal and written communication.
About the role
As a Data & Integration Solution Designer, you will collaborate with product managers, solution leads, stakeholders, and developers to create solutions and define technical specifications for certain business requirements. You will be responsible for designing scalable and high-performance solutions and applications.
The role involves working with a wide range of stakeholders, and will require initiative, as well as excellent verbal and written communication.
Your key accountabilities will be:
1. Technical leadership: Defines, documents and communicates appropriate solutions, patterns and implementation frameworks for data products; advising other technical teams and liaising closely with Architecture. This technical leadership enables specialists from different disciplines to work together and deliver successfully integrated solutions.
2. Systems analysis: provides precise context for a solution and the domain it covers; specifying boundaries and dependencies for both data and processing.
3. Integrated solutions design: Creates artefacts and models that makes precise information about data solutions accessible to others. This enables effective communication and planning, particularly where there are dependencies between different parts of the solution. The artefacts make the solutions understandable, reusable, maintainable and supportable throughout the life cycle.
4. Product ownership: Breaks solution delivery into manageable components so that multiple people or teams can contribute to the same solution. Facilitates planning and estimation for projects and product increments. Leads quality assurance at solution level, ensuring that delivered components works together as designed.
5. Problem solving: Combines understanding of multiple disciplines e.g. data analytics, data engineering, user experience, data integration, testing, and automation - in order to solve problems and communicate the solution to both technical and business professionals.
6. Risk management : identifies and manages/ mitigates any associated human and technical risks including - but not limited to - data security, quality, and privacy and compliance frameworks.
7. Role modelling: Promotes and models the best practice for working with technical design of data products; educates and evangelises as necessary to enable colleagues to be successful. About you
You will play a crucial role in collaborating and communicating with non-technical stakeholders and meeting the demands of customer facing teams who depend on Data & Integration solutions for their own success and targets. You will have the ability to balance complex workload and conflicting priorities.
The role holder should be an experienced and competent practitioner in data engineering, analytical queries, and data visualisation. Additionally, they should have hands-on experience using API's in an operational or analytical context.
It would be particularly beneficial that the role holder has experience working in agile and customer centric ways. Experience of working with data products and data contracts would also be very valuable.
As the solutions designer, the role holder would need to be able to facilitate discussions across complicated business and technical topics. Experience working in a consultative role would be particularly useful.
