The Role
This role will predominantly handle claims generated from the Casualty account, with a focus on General Liability claims. Experience in D&O would be beneficial.
We seek a candidate who can work with our underwriters and the rest of the claims team to define our claims service proposition.
Key Responsibilities
1. To proactively handle a portfolio of Casualty claims from first advice to settlement across both Open Market and Binding Authority placements.
2. Interacting with key internal and external stakeholders on claims-related matters.
3. To service brokers and clients, providing prompt and efficient claim resolution, within clearly defined authority limits.
4. As appropriate, appoint and manage experts to assist in claim investigation and resolution.
5. To assist in the monitoring of key risk claims and trends by collating data and reports.
6. To assist in providing regular feedback to senior management and underwriters.
7. Contribute to the strategy for the London Markets Claims Team and ensure its successful delivery.
8. Help maintain strong relationships with the London Market Underwriters.
9. To work under the direction and supervision of the Casualty Claims Manager and to assist as required in all aspects of Casualty claims adjustment and associated administration reporting.
The ideal Candidate
1. Educated to graduate level or equivalent.
2. ACII qualified or equivalent, or working towards this.
3. A significant level of experience handling Casualty claims, ideally 2-3 years or more and within the London Market.
4. A confident communicator with demonstrable communication skills both oral and written.
5. A willingness to travel.
6. Someone who can analyse complex issues but is also pragmatic, commercial and solution-oriented.
7. An ability to use own initiative and confidence in making decisions.
8. Ability to question the norm and seek ‘a better way’.
9. Good mathematical skills and report writing capability.
