We are looking for a Game Design Director to lead the creative vision on Battlefield. You will oversee all aspects of game design, from concept ideation to final execution. Reporting to the Creative Director and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will ensure that experiences and gameplay mechanics deliver an immersive and captivating gaming experience. As the driving force behind our game projects, you will need to have exceptional problem-solving abilities, and an aptitude for innovation. Responsibilities
1. Define the design and direction of the game inline with the project’s creative vision.
2. Oversee the development process from concept to final release.
3. Collaborate with design, art, programming, and production teams.
4. Ensure the game meets quality standards and player expectations.
5. Ensure regular playtesting is conducted and feedback is evaluated.
6. Adjust game design based on feedback and testing results.
7. Present project updates to senior management.
8. Review all game design content and assets.
9. Provide leadership and mentorship to senior design team members.
10. Collaborate to ensure the game is completed on time and within budget.
11. Coordinate with external partners.
12. Work with marketing and PR teams to promote the game.
13. Foster a positive and creative and inclusive work environment.
14. Stay updated with competitors, industry trends and incorporate new technologies.
15. Support and encourage a mindset of diversity and inclusion not just in the workplace, but in the content we create.
16. Determine the production priorities, high-level schedule and eventual scope adjustments with the Producers and other senior partners, to ensure the game is completed on time and within budget.
Requirements
1. Extensive shipped AAA HD experience in a Design Leadership role.
2. Experience with successful game projects, particularly first-person shooter games.
3. Strong leadership and communication skills.
4. Excellent understanding of game design principles.
5. Ability to create immersive, high-quality gaming experiences.
6. Ability to inspire and motivate a team and work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
7. Ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
8. Experience with playtesting and gathering player feedback.
9. Background managing budgets and resources.
10. Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements in game development.
11. Knowledge of current industry trends and technologies.
12. Interest in video games both as a creator and as a player, especially in varied genres, particularly first-person shooters.
