The Role: The PE Teacher will deliver a varied and engaging Physical Education curriculum tailored to the needs of students with SEMH. This role is pivotal in promoting positive physical and mental well-being, encouraging teamwork, and fostering a love for physical activity. Working closely with pastoral and support staff, the PE Teacher will ensure all students feel valued and supported in their learning journey. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver inclusive and engaging PE lessons tailored to SEMH students. Develop students' confidence, social skills, and emotional resilience through physical activity. Create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment. Encourage participation and teamwork, adapting lessons to meet individual needs. Promote a positive approach to physical and mental well-being. Work collaboratively with SENCOs, pastoral teams, and therapists to support students holistically. Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback. Uphold safeguarding policies and ensure student welfare at all times. Person Specification: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. Experience working with SEMH students or within an Alternative Provision is desirable. A passion for sports and a commitment to making PE accessible and enjoyable for all students. Strong behaviour management skills and a nurturing approach. Ability to build strong relationships with students and colleagues.
