We currently have a Mechanical Craftperson position available for a motivated individual to join our team in Redruth. Joining us on a full-time basis, you will receive a competitive salary of £34,368 - £40,729 per annum plus excellent benefits.
About the role
As the Mechanical Craftsperson you will strip, inspect and repair assets which are sent through South West Water’s internal Repair Workshop from both Waste Water Services and Drinking Water Services function. Ultimately to provide services of the required quality and quantity, in a sustainable manner that meets the required internal and external customer service standards, whilst protecting the environment.
What you'll be doing:
* Working on assets from Waste Water Treatment and Water Treatment sites to strip, inspect and repair a wide variety of equipment including pumps, gearboxes and specialist treatment process machinery.
* Manufacture and fabricate parts and equipment.
* Work with other disciplines in a workshop/mobile field team.
* Development of new skills both in and outside of your core discipline.
* Follow the business and departmental rules associated with workflow and management.
* Working in a manner that keeps you and those around you safe.
What we are looking for:
* 5 GCSEs or equivalent in Maths, English and a Science subject.
* A completed apprenticeship in a relevant technical discipline.
* Experience of working within a maintenance environment.
* Experience of working in a team and an understanding of the importance of teamwork.
* Worked with Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Safe Systems of Work to deliver an effective and safe maintenance regime.
* Have the ability to fault find utilising a structured and analytical approach through to the repair of complex and specialist items of mechanical equipment.
* Able to work under pressure to deliver within tight deadlines.
* Full UK Driving License.
