Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Manager to lead the civil and electrical installation of a 132kV grid connection at a Solar PV site in Nottingham. This role is crucial for the successful execution of a new electrical grid connection, contributing to the development of renewable energy infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage the Civil and Electrical installation: Oversee all aspects of the project.
2. Lead on-site teams: Schedule work, manage rosters, track KPIs, ensure safety, and support team development.
3. Oversee 3rd party contractors: Ensure smooth collaboration and integration.
4. Manage project budget: Report and coordinate with the commercial team.
5. Enforce safety policies: Ensure the wellbeing of all staff.
6. Conduct Quality and Safety Inspections/Audits.
7. Handle contractual requirements: managing variations, estimates, and approvals.
8. Represent the company locally: Engage with landowners and local stakeholders.
9. Communicate effectively: Liaise with clients, project managers, and subcontractors.
10. Promote teamwork: Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
11. Ensure compliance: Follow Health & Safety and Environmental policies and procedures.
12. Conduct risk assessments: Implement and audit Safe Systems of Work (SSOW).
13. Promote a healthy work environment.
Qualifications:
1. Full & Current Driving Licence.
2. SMSTS certification.
3. First Aid at Work certificate.
4. CSCS (black card).
5. Electrical qualifications (preferred).
6. HV Electrical Certification/Experience (preferred).
7. Civil/Construction qualifications (preferred).
8. Strong HSE awareness: Report risks and hazards.
9. Proficiency with technical and business software.
10. Ability to read and understand Electrical and Construction drawings.
11. Knowledge of Electrical Isolation (LOTO) procedures: LV & HV.
12. Understanding of electrical standards and regulations.
13. Experience managing utility energy assets and/or energy distribution assets.
14. Commercial acumen: Knowledge of commercial contracts.
15. Experience in utility solar or storage construction (preferred).
