Job Summary
Birdham ward is a busy 27-bedded Diabetes, endocrine, and Vascular ward. We work closely with Brighton Hospital, TVN, and Vascular specialist nurses as well as the close MDT. There are 3 consultants, 1 Ward Manager, and 4 deputy sisters/charge nurses who help maintain high standards of care to our patients and support to our junior members of the team.
As the Deputy Ward Sister/Charge Nurse, you will be responsible for assisting with the budget management of the ward, staff performance, appraisals, STAM, and other daily tasks.
We are passionate about continuously improving patient care, quality improvements, and supporting staff with their development and training.
We work closely with practice development and encourage new ideas to enhance patient experience as well as staff's health and wellbeing.
Main Duties of the Job
Within Diabetes and Endocrine at St Richards, we have an opportunity for you. We are a dynamic, inclusive, supportive team within Birdham Ward.
We are currently seeking a caring, enthusiastic nurse with a 'can do' positive approach to fill our Band 6 positions to complement our positive team culture.
You will need to demonstrate a keen interest in Diabetes care and have an ability to engage with our patients, visitors, loved ones, and families, and confidently liaise with our extended MDT.
As a senior nurse, you will need to be supportive and resilient in challenging situations. We have an inclusive team culture and value innovative and creative thinking.

Job Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the development, planning, and co-ordination of specialist treatment within a ward or department.
