Our innovative clinical pharmacy team are looking for a self-motivated clinical pharmacist to join us to lead our surgical and theatres service. You will work closely with our surgical teams and lead clinical pharmacists to develop and deliver pharmaceutical services to our surgical patients in both an inpatient and outpatient setting as well as our other site at Queen Mary's, Sidcup.

Main duties of the job
You will have a daily clinical commitment working with our dedicated medicine management trained and accuracy checking technicians who are fully integrated into the dispensary and ward service providing a full team approach to support near-patient pharmaceutical care on the wards. You will provide clinical leadership as the lead surgical pharmacist, training and developing others.
Applicants should have an interest in surgery, theatres and pain and be willing to work towards (if not already achieved) an independent prescribing qualification.
This post gives the opportunity to utilise an independent prescribing qualification and we will support you as you enhance and expand your surgical knowledge. Previous UK hospital pharmacy experience is essential.

Person Specification
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
* GPhC registration as a pharmacist
* Post graduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy or equivalent.
* Independent prescriber (or willing to work towards)
* Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society
* Management and leadership qualification
* MSc or equivalent postgraduate qualification in Clinical Pharmacy
KNOWLEDGE
* Demonstrates knowledge of national and local guidelines relating to specialism that need to be adhered to
* IT literacy
* Budgetary control skills
* Awareness of current practice and policy affecting pharmacy practice in the NHS & understanding the NHS structure
* Broad pharmaceutical knowledge relating to general medicine and core medical specialities
* Incident investigation/ root cause analysis
* Experience and knowledge of surgery and orthopaedics medication use
EXPERIENCE
* Experience working as a band 7 Pharmacist
* Experience of writing protocols and standards
* Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary clinical pharmacy setting
