Risk & Control Specialist– Salary circa £45,000
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Risk and Control Specialist to join our 1st line Risk & Governance Team. If you care about doing a phenomenal job and putting the customer at the heart of everything you do, then this could be the role for you!
A bit about the job:
The role sits at the heart of our business within the Internal Operations area of the Performance, Governance and Reporting (PGR) Team. Reporting to the Risk and Governance Manager within PGR, you will play a key role in delivering first line risk and assurance services across our important business standards. Working closely with senior leadership teams, first, second- and third-line risk partners, third-party supplier leads, Global functions and a network of internal and external business partners, you will proactively identify, assess, and document operational risks within the business unit.
Part of your daily work will be to conduct regular risk assessments and ensure that all potential risks are identified and mitigated. You’ll complete regular control assessments to ensure all controls are in place and functioning as intended and develop, implement, and monitor mitigation and remediation strategies. You’ll manage issues and risk events, including development of plans and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurrence and prepare and present regular risk reports to senior management. Maintain comprehensive and up-to-date risk documentation.
You’ll ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and internal policies and stay updated on changes in regulations and industry standard methodologies.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* Knowledge and experience in risk and governance related roles or working with risk and control frameworks and risk management tools such as IBM Open Pages and Archer.
* An understanding of any of the business standards in scope (Information Technology, Business Protection, Operational Resilience, Procurement and Outsourcing, Health and Safety, Data Governance and Data Privacy) and underlying controls framework.
* Experience of operational risk management and control assessment.
* Exceptional with data analysis and reporting, including analysing data to provide insight and recommendations and developing and producing reporting for senior management. Proficient at Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, coupled with strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

* Salary circa £45,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
