Job Description
Objectives
The Consultant will provide services for operational efficiency and profitability through strategic freight management, comprehensive reporting, and analysis. The consultant is responsible for optimizing freight revenue and ensuring the effective allocation of resources to achieve unit productivity goals. The consultant’s role within zone planning is also accountable for ensuring customer requirements are met during the planning process. The Consultant is responsible for communicating with all pertinent stakeholders through a proactive approach, while upholding the company’s values and standards in all interactions (internal and external).
3. Scope of Work
3.1 Responsibilities
Freight Management and Optimization:
1. Conduct detailed reporting and analysis to oversee the load planning process, ensuring alignment with the company’s vision, while meeting the goals and objectives of the company.
2. Proactively communicate with Fleet Managers and Customer Service Representatives to secure and assign freight within assigned area of responsibility within the pricing guidelines and enhance fleet revenue and overall profitability of the company.
Planning Processes:
1. Develop and execute preplanning strategies that achieve company financial goals, unit productivity goals, and customer satisfaction, while maximizing utilization of equipment.
2. Provide critical analysis and forward thinking to forecast freight trends to best utilize and allocate company resources while meeting or exceeding customer needs.
Communication and Engagement:
1. Foster and maintain relationships with customers, fleet managers, drivers, other stakeholders, and management to facilitate seamless operations.
2. Proactive written and verbal communication with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment with planning strategies that meet both company goals and customer needs.
Customer Support:
1. Respond to customer inquiries timely and handle and resolve customer complaints and issues effectively and efficiently.
Collaboration:
1. Work closely with other departments to address customer needs and resolve issues.
2. Provide feedback to management regarding customer trends, recurring issues, and potential areas for improvement.
3.2 Deliverables
1. Daily solicitation of customers to obtain and exceed budgeted freight volume metrics to meet asset enterprises’ revenue and unit productivity numbers.
2. Achieve and maintain a minimum of 98% customer satisfaction rate.
3. Resolve 100% of customer inquiries within the first contact.
Reporting:
1. Submit weekly and monthly performance reports including key metrics such as response time, resolution time, and customer satisfaction scores.
4. Performance Standards
1. Reduce the number of layovers in the region by prebooking freight to optimize planning.
2. Maintain OTD% of 98%.
3. Achieve Revenue goal of 10%.
