The role We are looking for a Head of Strategy, Planning and Technology within Individual Retirement Solutions, a key division of the Phoenix Group; Responsible for delivering: 1. the strategy, 2. planning and 3. technology solutions for IRS products and propositions working across internal and external strategic partners, Group IT as well as a wide range of internal stakeholders. Leading the design, planning and oversight of the construction and delivery of solutions supporting the Individual Retirement Solutions business. Accountable for delivering the strategic vision of IRS including accountability for planning and delivering the technology landscape, responsibility for implementation of quality assurance processes and leading delivery of the provision of MI on the competitive landscape and pricing performance of retirement products Accountable for key stakeholder engagements to ensure that change projects are aligned with expectations of timelines, prioritisation or sequencing, managing and support conflict resolution with the relevant parties accordingly Work with the IRS leadership team to define the BAU change portfolio working closely with the Project Change Team to support IR's strategic objectives. Oversee big multi-million pound change projects. Lead teams (technology, assurance & operations) delivering large scale (multi-million, 12 month plus duration) projects, ensuring the project meets its objectives on time and within budget. Overseeing execution teams whether assembled from within Individual Retirement Solutions or wider project workstreams Lead, facilitate, and deliver Phoenix' strategic plan for Individual Retirement Solutions in line with the agreed business strategy for Individual Retirement Solutions, including leading and delivering alignment and focus of planning, tech Lead or monitor the progress of in-flight Technology projects to ensure target outcomes are being met Contribute towards increasing the value of Individual Retirement (and Phoenix) for its investors, employees, and customers. Lead the strategy, design, and product assurance underpinning all of individual retirement solutions products and tools including as a core dependency for the delivery of key programmes What are we looking for? We are looking for someone with significant experience in a technology leadership role as a Chief Solutions Architect or perhaps have acted as CTO in an SME or project. You will have strong problem solving and analytical skills, and the ability to work quickly and accurately with a high attention to detail. The ability to deliver in a high-pressure environment whilst maintaining accuracy and quality. Excellent communication skills, including experience of interacting with a wide range of stakeholders. Very self-aware with the desire to exceed expectations and demonstrate resilience in overcoming challenges and determination to deliver results for the business. IT would be beneficial, although not essential if you had demonstrable experience of working with individual annuities and hybrid retirement products. Technical and regulatory knowledge specific to the industry would be useful. We want to hire the whole version of you.
