Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist looking for a specialist role where you can make a real impact on patient care? We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 7 Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist to join our Trauma & Orthopaedics Team at Yeovil District Hospital.
Main duties of the job
As a key member of our Occupational Therapy team, you'll provide expert assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and advice to patients with a range of orthopaedic and trauma-related conditions—from elective surgery to emergency injuries. You'll work closely with multidisciplinary teams to support patient recovery, enhance independence, and facilitate timely discharges.
What You'll Do:
1. Provide specialist occupational therapy interventions for patients with trauma and orthopaedic conditions.
2. Offer clinical leadership within the team, supervising junior staff and students.
3. Lead on service development and quality improvement initiatives within Trauma and Orthopaedics.
4. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient care and discharge planning.
5. Deliver training and education to staff and contribute to clinical governance and best practice development.
