As a business, they have been ranked as one of the fastest growing contractors in the UK and employ a workforce of over 500 employees. About the role Due to some internal promotions within the company my client is now looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their very experienced and senior team. The section of the contract you will be working on will be valued at £25M a year working on major highways and infrastructure. The overall duration of this contract will be at least another 2 years, it’s guaranteed long-term work and stability for the right candidate. There is another project that is local to follow on from this one. The contract is working on link roads and roundabouts as well as having the opportunity to work on bypasses and flyovers. You will be working underneath some brilliant people. The head of the contract who you will have a good working relationship has a brilliant reputation and has one of the best names within the highways industry. He has 20 years’ experience working within the highways industry working for well-respected contractors. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of Quantity Surveyors, managing costs across multiple projects, ensuring each is profitable for the Company. You will be involved with the reviewing, evaluation and delivery of payments as well as developing client relationships. These projects include factories, new builds, highways diversions and new bridges. Project values up to £35M. Rewards and Benefits You will receive a salary of between £60,000 and £70,000 depending on experience. The package will also include a car or a car allowance as well as a pension and private healthcare. About the requirements You are required to have a good standard of education preferably to Foundation Degree level (HND,HNC or equivalent qualification) in either Construction, Civils, Commercial management or Quantity Surveying. To be considered for this position, you should have experience working as a Senior Quantity Surveyor within highways for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 company. Your work history should be stable; ideally you should have worked at your previous companies for a number of years. A UK driving license is mandatory for this role
