A well-established alloy component manufacturer is seeking a Laboratory Technician to join its metallurgical team in Leicester. This role involves conducting materials testing, supporting quality control, and assisting in research and development.
Key Responsibilities:
Performing routine and advanced materials testing, including hardness, tensile, and microstructural analysis
Preparing and analysing metallurgical samples using microscopy and chemical testing methods
Supporting quality control processes to ensure compliance with industry standards
Maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment to ensure accuracy
Assisting in research and development of new alloy compositions and processing techniques
Documenting test results and reporting findings to engineers and production teams
Candidate Requirements:
Experience working in a metallurgical or materials testing lab (manufacturing, foundry, or aerospace experience is advantageous)
Knowledge of superalloys, aerospace materials, or high-performance metals is desirable but not essential
