Job Description
As a Health, Safety, Environment and Quality Manager, you will be supporting the development of a strategy to shape the HSEQ function within our Dartford and Ireland. This role also includes site security & risk management. Working closely with the respective management team and their on-site HSEQ Co-Ordinators to deliver this strategy and drive a culture of continuous improvement. This is a hands-on role and requires a candidate who enjoys interacting on the shop floor and can demonstrate the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
Shift: Monday to Friday (With the occasional weekend working) On Call for escalation purposes.
Salary: £44,200.00
Holiday: 25 days
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Supporting the Health & Safety Manager in ensuring a safe working environment is maintained and that the depot is operating within health and legal requirements.
2. Record, review and monitor accidents, incidents, near misses and hazards in conjunction with the Health & Safety Manager.
3. Create risk assessments and safe systems of work with guidance from the Health & Safety Manager.
4. Ensure all documentation is compliant with the most up to date SHE format.
5. Set up and maintain electronic filing system.
6. Fully support the audit process, both internally and customer audits.
7. Support and assist the site management team in conducting a full and thorough investigation of all accidents and incidents and ensuring a follow-up of any corrective action is undertaken.
8. Update the minimum safety standard report on a quarterly basis.
9. Update the environment safety standard report on a quarterly basis.
10. Collect and compile the KPI data for monthly reporting.
11. Perform site audits such as safety tours.
12. Lead site Health & Safety meetings.
13. Responsible for ensuring the site has Safety Representation and their training.
14. Produce supporting materials for presentations, inductions and workshops.
15. Oversee the management of the site Security Team and reporting back to central Security Management.
16. AEO Audits and Standards are adhered to.
17. Work with the CI team to ensure we are promoting best practices across the contract.
18. Other ad hoc administrative duties including reviewing and completing Safe Systems of Work, Standard Operating Process, Risk Assessments.
Person Profile:
1. Currently in an existing health and safety role with a minimum of 5 years' experience in Logistics.
2. IOSH Minimum NEBOSH working towards.
3. Fire Risk Assessor desired.
4. Good understanding of Health & Safety regulation and legislation.
5. Knowledge of BS OHSAS 18001 would be an advantage.
6. Excellent IT skills with working experience of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
7. Ability to work on solo projects.
8. Methodical, with attention to detail.
9. Self-motivated and an effective personal/time planner.
10. Demonstrate a keen interest in health and safety.
11. Ability to communicate at all levels professionally and discreetly.
