Travel to Headquarters in Ansty is essential, with the ability to work from home 3-4 days per week!

About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Risk and Assurance for Cadent Gas, as part of the small centre of expertise, you will be seen as a critical friend by the areas of the business you are supporting (Corporate Functions including Finance, HR, Strategy and Regulation and IT). As such, you will work closely with business areas to gain an intimate knowledge and understanding of their risks, key controls and assurance framework to help ensure they are driving business performance through coaching, support and challenge. You will also have the opportunity to support central initiatives as we continue to improve our risk and assurance maturity.
What you'll get to work on:
* Working closely with stakeholders at all levels you will support the Functions to embed risk and assurance processes in line with Cadent’s overall Risk and Assurance Framework, for example through facilitating risk and control identification and assessment workshops and through supporting the delivery of assurance test designs.
* As a subject matter expert you will engage the Functions to ensure that the value of effective Risk and Assurance is understood and given appropriate focus and attention to realise the value of these processes. This will require delivering training as required.
* You will support our network of Risk Champions and Leads, upskilling them where necessary to ensure they have the level of competence required to perform their roles effectively.
* You will also be responsible for facilitating the Functional inputs into enterprise wide Risk and Assurance reporting to the Executive Committee, Audit and Risk Committee and our Board to ensure that high quality inputs are received that you will turn into Executive insight.
* We are always looking to make risk and assurance easier for the business to manage and more insightful to drive business performance. You will help to manage our ERM solution to ensure it is fit for purpose and provides the service and insights our users need.
* You will also be accountable for creating and delivering the assurance framework.
* As a Business Partner you will hold relationships with senior members of our corporate functions.
* You will have an enthusiastic graduate to manage and develop as they progress through their ACCA studies.
Who are we looking for:
Qualifications:
* Full UK Driving License
Practical Experience:
* Can implement and use different risk and control frameworks.
* Has previously worked within a second line risk / assurance team.
* Confident in project management, control frameworks and risk management.
* Experience in working with and influencing senior stakeholders, including presenting with an ability to build strong working relationships and engage on risk and assurance matters.
* Can manage multiple demands/projects and deliver to deadlines.
