Caudwell Marine is a start-up engineering company, financially backed by John Caudwell, developing an innovative, patented outboard motor and Vessel Control System for launch in 2025
The Caudwell Marine organisation is a small but growing, experienced team of people who are passionate about successfully bringing this technologically leading outboard motor to market. Each team member has a ‘hands on’ approach and supports each other for the benefit of the programme.
The Junior Indirect & Aftersales Buyer will support and drive the Indirect and Aftersales Procurement activities ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services to meet business requirements and assist the Procurement Operations Manager to achieve Caudwell marine business objectives
This is a highly dynamic and flexible role and will include working closely with the CM Procurement & Supply Chain Director, CM’s Supplier Quality function, Commercial Function and the CM Engineering Team. The Junior Indirect Buyer will establish stable and effective activities for all indirect spend and aftersales support across the business.
Responsibilities:
* Monitor, Manage and Lead Procurement Activities for all indirect and aftersales spend.
* Work on cost savings initiatives and manage the savings database to record all savings achieved.
* Maximize commercial advantage for CM via the deployment of effective sourcing strategies spend for locations or the group in accordance with KPI’s.
* Ensure continuity of supply by supporting the day-to-day operation of all all indirect and aftersales spend.
* Fulfil auditing and compliance requirements related to Procurement processes.
* Support the Procurement Operations Manager in different tasks ie reporting, preparation of events like Kaizen and supplier summits etc.
* Work with departments to develop and provide ongoing support for Aftermarket and NPI
* Provide effective contract negotiation generating savings and reducing costs in alignment with business needs and market trends.
* Minimize commercial risk through the implementation of robust commercial and contractual terms,
* Interact with other functions within the CM including, IT, HR, Commercial, Quality Finance to achieve business objectives.
* Travel will be required.
Previous Experience:
* At least 3 years’ experience in Procurement & Supply Chain in a Manufacturing environment.
* Experience of (but not limited to) powertrain, machined parts, cast or forged parts, mouldings, A-surface parts
* Experience in & good understanding of Total Cost of Ownership methodology
* At least 2 years in a ‘blue chip’ manufacturing / engineering organisation where ‘automotive level’ procurement and supply chain processes and practices have been demonstrated
* Ideally has also worked in a Small, Medium Enterprise (SME) and is able to demonstrate the ability to ‘roll their sleeves up’ and personally get things done as part of a small team

Qualifications:
* Working towards CIPS
* Degree qualified or equivalent by experience

Pay: £36,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
