We have an exciting opportunity for an Anaesthetic Nurse/Operating Department Practitioner to join our team on a permanent basis.

We are currently offering a Band 5 to Band 6 progression pathway, subject to the fulfilling of necessary criteria.
Main duties of the job

If you are a newly qualified or experienced Anaesthetic Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner specialising in anaesthetics, we are offering 1 full time ( hours per week) band 5 position of Anaesthetic Nurse / Operating Department Practitioner Anaesthetic within our busy suites.
We have 6 Main Theatres and 4 Day Treatment Centre Theatres specialising in Orthopaedics and Trauma, Bariatric, General, Colorectal, Breast surgery, Urology, Obstetrics and Gynaecology as well as also act as a key member of the CRASH/Obstetric team during and out of hours.
You will need to deliver a holistic care approach that is current, evidence based and effective. You must have a broad knowledge and skill base including communication and team working skills, in order that you contribute to the smooth running of the theatre department.

Job responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Assisting in the routine daily planning and organisation of the theatres/allocated anaesthetic area, for clinical procedures and practice, across a range of surgical specialities
2. Delivering high quality anaesthetic care in isolated areas such as Maternity and functioning as an essential member of the cardiac arrest team.
3. Participate in the departments administration as required.
4. Opportunity to rotate between areas may be available.
Who we are looking for:
5. Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council or Health and Care Professions Council for ODPs, is essential.
6. An RGN/RN with a UK recognised anaesthetic nursing qualification or Operating Department Practitioner qualification is essential.
7. Recent experience of working within theatres as an anaesthetic practitioner would be advantageous.
8. Delivering high quality, patient-focused care, that is current, evidence based and effective.
9. Be compassionate and able to demonstrate excellent patient care & leadership skills.
10. Have strong verbal and written communication skills.

12. Proof of registration with NMC (nurses) or HCPC (ODPs)
