Purpose of the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to manage the routine servicing, maintenance, and repair of various equipment within our Coventry Test Facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Routine Maintenance & Servicing: Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks as outlined in the existing plan, ensuring equipment reliability and efficiency.
Fault Diagnosis & Repairs: Perform troubleshooting and non-routine repairs in the event of breakdowns, minimizing downtime and maintaining operational continuity.
Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, external service providers, and contractors to ensure smooth execution of maintenance tasks, whether in-house or outsourced.
Continuous Improvement: Support facility upgrade initiatives and continuous improvement projects to enhance equipment performance and efficiency.
Administrative Compliance: Maintain accurate records, schedules, and reports to meet legal and audit compliance standards. Liaise with suppliers, contractors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of parts and services.
Specific Duties:
Teamwork: Operate independently to manage your workload and priorities while collaborating with the Test Facilities Manager and other team members.
Supplier Coordination: Select and liaise with suppliers, raising purchase orders (POs) for parts and services as required.
Planning: Manage short-term workload to meet daily targets and contribute to medium-term planning for larger projects, including upgrades and improvements.
Decision-Making: Make day-to-day decisions on workload management and priorities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Education/Experience: Time-served apprenticeship with a BTEC Level 3 in Engineering (or equivalent) in a relevant field.
Technical Skills: Proficient in general maintenance and routine servicing.
Strong mechanical fitting skills, including equipment/system assembly.
Workshop capabilities (e.g., machining, welding, fabrication).
Basic understanding of electrical systems, enabling safe working and fault diagnosis.
