Governance Manager 9-month contract Salary: circa £45,000 Location: all Aviva sites Are you an experienced Governance professional looking for a varied new role where you would be exposed to a key team of one of the UK's largest insurance companies? We currently have a fantastic opportunity within our Investment Operations - Unit Pricing team and are seeking a Governance Manager to manage the governance frameworks within which Unit Pricing operates. This opening is a 9-month fixed-term contract from January to September 2025. A bit about the job: The Governance Manager is a member of the Unit Pricing Controls team and supports the Director of Investment Operations, the Head of Unit Pricing and the rest of the Investment Operations Senior Leadership Team (SLT) to ensure their teams operate efficiently and safely, with a robust risk & controls environment and governance framework. The responsibilities of the role will include: Leading the secretariat function for Unit Pricing Group (UPG), Breach Group and the two Unit Linked Shareholder Risk Oversight groups. This includes managing the Terms of Reference, agenda and reporting packs, meeting schedule, attendees, the meetings themselves and meeting minutes; and ensuring actions are executed and the Groups remain fully effective in line with the relevant policies and guidance. Write reports for other groups such as Unit Linked Fund Governance Committee (ULFGC) and the Finance Risk & Solvency Committee (FRSC) as required. Maintenance of the Unit Pricing policies and framework in line with regulatory requirements, including tracking changes due to legacy policy harmonisation. Provide support to the Unit Pricing team on operational readiness for large projects as well as governance and risk advice to stakeholders. Key point of contact for internal and external audits. Ensure tasks undertaken by analysts are performed to the appropriate standard. Delivering a specific project to make the Unit Pricing polices more user friendly. Skills and experience we're looking for: Articulate, with written and verbal communication skills. Analytical and problem-solving mindset Pride in accuracy and equally comfortable with the detail as well as the big picture. Excellent organisational and relationship management skills Understanding of financial markets, regulatory frameworks and/or risk management would be an advantage.
