Operating 24/7 this is a panama shift pattern, with every other weekend off.
The role of a Maintenance Engineer (Controls)
* You are responsible for ensuring the delivery of high-quality technical support services.
* Ensuring the highest level of Client satisfaction by identifying client problems, proactively monitoring client systems, and building and maintaining a support knowledge base.
* Providing site-based engineering support to minimise downtime and ensure uptime and availability of the installed automated materials handling equipment.
* Carrying out effective fault finding and occasional modification of industrial control systems.
* Identify and implement updates or upgrades to the PLC and automation control systems.
* Prioritise system faults and optimise uptime and availability of onsite automated materials handling equipment including conveyers, Auto Store solutions, and robotics.
Qualifications & experience required to be successful in this Controls Maintenance Engineers role:
* Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship, ONC/HNC or equivalent qualification in engineering
* Experience in fault finding and basic modification of PLC programs (Siemens and/or Beckhoff)
* Experience of Profibus/ASi communications
* Experience of Variable Speed Drives, Motors, and Safety Circuits
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Excellent customer service skills
