The Clinical Respiratory Technician will work under the supervision of the Lead Physiologist in the newly established Community Diagnostics Centre at Southlands Hospital, supporting the Respiratory service at Worthing Hospital 1-2 days per week. (Note: the hospital offers a free shuttle service between sites.)
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and perform a range of simple, specialist, and complex diagnostic respiratory assessments with a significant degree of responsibility and autonomy, following ARTP or ERS/ATS criteria where applicable.
2. Analyze and interpret a wide range of diagnostic tests.
3. Maintain up-to-date clinical knowledge.
4. Obtain accurate and informative results.
5. Take responsibility for personal professional development and registration.
6. Demonstrate care and respect for patients and colleagues.
7. Provide cross-site cover as required.
8. Ensure safe working practices in the Lung Function & Sleep department, adhering to all relevant legislation and Trust policies.
9. Undertake risk assessments and report hazards to the Respiratory management group.
10. Maintain databases and records, and produce statistical reports on workload.
11. Participate actively in MDTs and respiratory meetings.
12. Record information accurately on clinical systems.
13. Ensure all statistical and activity data, including coding, are correctly recorded.
