Job Title: Hydropower Engineer
The Hydropower Engineer will act as a working supervisor responsible for the operation, maintenance, and lifecycle projects of a 25MW hydro scheme.
Main Responsibilities:
* Lead, supervise and manage the daily activities of the onsite team.
* Play a key role in the planning and management of scheduled and unscheduled outages within the hydro project's annual maintenance schedule.
* Manage maintenance and lifecycle projects to ensure the long-term upkeep of the hydro scheme.
* Ensure all work is conducted in compliance with HSE regulations and company policies.
* Utilize CMMS and SCADA systems for monitoring and administration of work.
* Liaise with the offsite control centre for monitoring and operational purposes.
* Coordinate and manage specialist subcontractors for various maintenance and lifecycle tasks.
* Manage and participate in an on-call rota to fulfill 24/7 response protocols.
* Report to the Site Manager and provide regular updates on project status and site conditions.
Requirements:
* SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification.
* Proven experience in mechanical maintenance and project management.
* HND, degree or equivalent beneficial.
* Strong knowledge of HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) regulations.
* Experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.
* Excellent leadership and team management skills.
* Strong communication skills for effective liaison with offsite control centres and subcontractors.
Working Conditions:
Primarily site-based with the ability to work from home and at GHR office in Evanton (Depot) and Perth (Fin & Admin).
Full-time position with potential for overtime during peak project periods.
