My client, a reputable company in the local area of Stamford, is now recruiting for a Logistics Coordinator/Shipping Export Coordinator. You will be reporting to the Shipping & Logistics Expert Manager & Purchasing Manager, and your role will be to support the logistics in meeting the Logistics and Compliance requirements of the business, ensuring internal and external customer expectations are met.
This is a full-time, Monday to Friday, permanent role with a salary of £28k - £33k DOE. In addition, there is an excellent non-salaried package.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Support and meet the daily requirements of all company departments by sourcing cost-effective freight solutions to meet the needs of the Plant and Customer.
2. Manage and utilize reporting/booking tools and databases to support data collection for analysis and day-to-day operations.
3. Liaise and negotiate with 3rd party logistics providers to obtain the best rates and service levels.
4. Highlight, record, and action any carrier issues.
5. Manage freight shipments to ensure on-time collection and delivery, meeting the requirements of the customer.
6. Work closely with all Departments to ensure shipping documentation is accurate and Customs compliant.
7. Liaise with the local Chamber of Commerce to apply for shipping certifications.
8. Support operational aspects of the freight pay process to close out and process invoices in a timely manner, working with the Finance Department. This includes raising purchase orders utilizing Sage software.
9. Communicate any shipping/transportation issues to all relevant departments.
10. Identify and support cost reduction initiatives, supporting cross-functional initiatives within the Logistics scope.
11. Support the preparation of month-end reporting.
12. Assist and participate in freight/transportation service provider review meetings.
13. Assist and participate in internal meetings with Project Managers to understand Logistics requirements.
Key Skills:
1. Excellent attention to detail required to understand Logistics requirements and completion of documentation.
2. Supply Chain/Logistics experience would be beneficial, but not essential.
3. Some knowledge and experience in International Transportation would be beneficial, but not essential.
4. Good verbal/written communication skills; ability to communicate and cooperate cross-functionally with all Supply Chain Departments and Freight partners.
5. Forward critical thinking to identify potential issues/gaps in processes.
6. Motivated to achieve customer satisfaction.
7. Microsoft skills mandatory, including Excel.
