Job Title: Health & Safety Manager
Location: Stockport
Salary: Up to £70,000

About the Role:
This is a brand-new position within an exciting, fast-growing business. As the Health & Safety Manager, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the company’s H&S policies and processes. This role will focus on ensuring compliance with health & safety, while driving initiatives that promote a culture of safety and sustainability across the organization. You will ensure the organization operates in a safe and environmentally conscious manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Health & Safety:
1. Develop and implement Health and Safety policies and procedures.
2. Conduct risk, fire risk, and workplace assessments.
3. Create method statements and COSHH assessments.
4. Develop 'Safe Working’ procedures and provide internal training.
5. Oversee internal accident and RIDDOR reporting, conducting investigations when necessary.
6. Organize and lead Health and Safety committee meetings.
7. Source and manage safety equipment and PPE for the site.
8. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe workplace for all employees and stakeholders.
Core Competencies:
1. Strong background in manufacturing and warehousing environments.
2. Familiarity with MRP and Just-in-Time principles.
3. Experience working in or supporting operations in a fast-paced production setting.
4. Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills across teams.
5. Proven ability to build and maintain productive cross-functional relationships.
6. Hands-on experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
7. Skilled in interpreting and maintaining structured data for projects and improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
1. NEBOSH certification in Health, Safety & Environment or equivalent.
2. Knowledge of ISO standards, including ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety).
3. Proven experience in Health & Safety management roles.
