Hours of work: 37 hours per week
Work location: Primarily remote, with occasional on-site work across college campuses as needed.
Job Purpose:
The Digital Solutions Specialist is responsible for developing and implementing innovative digital solutions that enhance educational and business processes within the college. This role involves customising and maintaining the MIS system (Tribal ebs), creating bespoke applications with SharePoint, Microsoft Power Apps, and automating workflows using Microsoft Power Automate to streamline operations and improve efficiency. The role also involves designing and maintaining web content, developing instructional materials, and fostering a culture of digital innovation and upskilling across the institution. The Digital Solutions Specialist will collaborate closely with business support, curriculum managers, and academic staff to ensure the effective integration and enhancement of digital technologies, ultimately improving the overall staff and student experience.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customise pages within the MIS system (Tribal ebs) to ensure it meets the dynamic needs of the college's educational and business processes.
2. Conduct needs analysis in collaboration with business support and academic staff to identify opportunities for streamlining business processes through automation.
3. Create custom business applications using Microsoft Power Apps to address specific organisational needs, enhancing functionality and user experience.
4. Use Microsoft Power Automate to automate repetitive tasks and streamline business processes, improving overall efficiency and productivity.
5. Develop and maintain the college staff and student intranet, ensuring it serves as a robust resource for communication and information.
6. Create instructional videos that support business support systems and making complex systems and processes more accessible to users.
7. Develop innovative learning content using Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to provide immersive digital experiences for all stakeholders.
8. Develop and implement processes, tools, and infrastructures to support innovation and the digital upskilling of students, apprentices, business support staff, and academic staff.
9. Work closely with business support, curriculum managers, and those involved in delivery and support to ensure digital technologies appropriately enhance the staff and student experience, keeping the college at the cutting edge of available and emerging technologies
10. Provide encouragement and technical support to business support and academic staff in designing, developing, and delivering a wide range of engaging, interactive, and effective online learning resources.
11. Take responsibility for personal professional development, including undertaking necessary training courses to develop required skills, and participate in meetings, conferences, and other events related to the use of technologies in education.
