Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our team at our prestigious client's location in London's Moorgate area. This exciting opportunity involves overseeing the production of all dishes assigned to your station, ensuring food safety standards are maintained at all times, and collaborating with the head chef to develop and taste new recipes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Preparation: Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and standards set by the head chef, adhering to food safety guidelines
- Station Management: Oversee the production of all dishes assigned to your station, maintaining cleanliness and organization within your designated area
- Quality Control: Maintain high-quality standards for all dishes, ensuring presentation and taste meet expectations
- Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with team members, assist colleagues as needed, and coach junior chefs to support their development
- Menu Development: Collaborate with the head chef to develop and taste new recipes, providing suggestions for improvement or innovation
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Proven experience working as a Sous Chef or similar role (preferably minimum 5 years' cooking experience within a professional kitchen setting)
- Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines
- Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
