British Sugar is a home-grown success story and one of the most efficient and competitive beet processers in the world. Around 3,500 farmers based in East Anglia and the East Midlands supply our four advanced manufacturing sites with eight million tonnes of sugar beet every year. We, in turn, make this in to over 1 million tonnes of sugar, serving customers across the UK, Ireland and increasingly growing commercially in the EU and world sugar markets.

Job Purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide expert HR advice and support to central functions and sites, empowering line managers to effectively implement the People strategy in alignment with British Sugar's strategic priorities and Must Win Battles.
Accountabilities
Provide expert advice, guidance and coaching to line managers on all aspects of people management, ensuring compliance with People policies and procedures.
Partner with line leaders to manage the end-to-end recruitment process, ensuring a seamless and effective hiring experience.
Provide expert guidance to line leaders on performance improvement cases, ensuring fair and consistent outcomes.
Advise on employment legislation, associated risks, and best practices, supporting managers in making informed people decisions.
Conduct research and lead projects as required to drive continuous improvement people processes.
Support the Senior People Business Partner in ensuring service delivery is continually developed and optimised for successful outcomes.
Act as the key contact for stakeholders across functions, providing specialist advisory services to facilitate effective business operations.
Enable effective absence management and when required involve Occupational Health.
Review and update HR policies and procedures in line with UK employment legislation, providing education and guidance on key legislative changes to line manager.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships and quickly establish credibility.
Excellent influencing and negotiation abilities, capable of creating win-win outcomes.
Collaborative team player who works effectively across functions.
Commercially aware, with the ability to align People solutions to business strategies and goals in a pragmatic and innovative way.
Proven experience in a generalist People role, with a strong focus on recruitment and employee relations.
