* Are you available to work 5 days a week, 8:45am to 3:20pm in the Cowley area?
Fresh Start in Education are looking for experienced and person-centred SEN Learning Support Assistants to work on a 1:1 basis with primary-aged children with learning, communication and personal care needs in a primary educational setting.
This role involves planning and delivering communication, life skills and basic literacy and numeracy skills sessions in creative, practical and engaging ways on a 1:1 basis, as well as supporting the child in a whole-class setting where appropriate. The role will also involve emotional and behavioural support, as well as providing personal care when necessary, supported by another member of staff. Knowledge of PECS is desirable.
The placement:
* Working with your student on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis in an educational setting
* Planning & delivering life skills, communication and early literacy/numeracy skills sessions on a 1:1 basis
* Supporting 1:1 in a class setting where appropriate
* 5 days a week, 8:45am - 3:20pm, term-times only
* Bank Staff worker – providing short-term provisions as and when they arise, paid via PAYE
What you need to apply:
* Minimum of 2 years’ professional experience working with vulnerable children or young people with additional needs (SEN, SEMH needs and other barriers to learning)
* Experience planning and delivering life skills, communication and early literacy/numeracy skills sessions to primary-aged children
* Monday-Friday availability for this role or a minimum of 2 consistent days a week for other bank staff placements
* A commitment to keeping children and young people safe and a practical and up to date knowledge of safeguarding
