Are you a Manufacturing or Production Section Manger looking for a new opportunity? Bensons for Beds is looking for a new Production Section Manager to join our Manufacturing team in Huntingdon. Working on a Full-time basis, you will join a thriving manufacturing team, providing the highest of standards to the team and business, whilst also supporting the wider team with your expertise and support. You will responsible for overseeing the production function ensuring efficient and quality driven processes are in place to deliver best in class products for customers. To ensure products are safely, cost effectively on time and meeting required quality standards. To lead a team of Senior Team Leaders and Team Leaders focusing on meeting production deadlines with a supportive and inclusive environment. Exemplifies the Company’s values and behaviours Communicate key performance metrics, business updates and internal messages so that each employee is aware of expectations, deliverables and how they contribute to the wider business performance Work positively with support functions to fully define processes/ procedures relevant to the team Drive productivity rates, standards and quality control Train and coach, the team as required Ensure all records are completed appropriately Support the team to perform root cause analysis and resolve problems Ensure the escalation process for quality concerns is followed Be the visible lead for adherence to health and safety procedures Ensure that health and safety guidelines are met at all times Ensure all customer orders are completed on time and to quality standards Work with the Senior Team Leaders/Team Leaders to manage day to day functions of the department Manages and supports HR process for Production Operatives (where department has no Senior Team Leader) and Team Leaders including but not limited to recruitment, holiday management, absence management (including the return to work), one to one meetings, annual review, disciplinaries, grievances, exit interviews, training plans, 9 box Review individual and team performance through timely one to ones and annual reviews celebrating success and identifying areas for improvement Identify areas for colleague development and liaise with the Learning and Development function where required to discuss training opportunities Responsible for planning and organising production schedules Oversee production processes within a defined section identifying opportunities for continuous improvement Undertake any other duties as and when necessary, in order to meet the varying demands of the business and satisfy the customer needs Work with the Senior Section Manager on CI projects Work with the Senior Section Manager on succession planning Work collaboratively with all Section Managers and the wider business Responsibility of looking after apprentices Driving cross-skilling Finding ways to build better quality Finding ways to build products closer to plan Seek out Non-Value Adding processes and reduce/eliminate them Keep Work-In-Progress to a minimum Work with NPI to support the integration of new products The key responsibilities and accountabilities described must be carried out in a manner which promotes equality of opportunity, dignity and due respect for all employees and service users and are consistent with the Company’s Equal Opportunities Policy. A successful should: Previous experience managing a team Previous manufacturing experience Good working knowledge of health and safety legislation Solid understanding of all people related processes and procedure Computer literate Understanding of production costs to include waste, downtime and scrap A clear communicator with great people skills Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques Understanding of recognised quality control tools What will you get?
