Who you’ll be supporting & more about the role: Who will you be supporting and what will you be doing? We are 3 males who have some learning difficulties. You don't need to have any specific training we are just looking for people passionate about supporting us to lead of best lives. We are all proud of our independence and that we can get out in our local community. We are all proud of how we all look after each other every day We like to experience new things, and we like our support staff to encourage us to try new things. We enjoy rugby, gardening, films, bowling, cooking, discos. We between us all have many interests, and we do like to explore new interests. We all like to go on holiday and we have travelled far. Our aspiration is to experience as many things as we can. We do enjoy walking, and we all have bus passes that we use to get out. We do have a car for those further a field trips and so ideally, we would like a driver who would enjoy experiencing this with us. We are all very close and we do like to do a lot of stuff together. However, in recent times we have begun to create new experiences just for each one of us. We are now finding our interest and support staff will need to encourage this to enable us to live the best live that we are able to do so. We like people who are easy going, adventurous, thinks outside of the box. Similar interest as ourselves and the someone who will encourage us to try new things. We like someone who understands that we do become anxious and that we do require reassurance from time to time especially when there is change. We do have a cat called Tigger who is a massive part of our daily lives so ideally someone with no allergies or who are quite use to cats. We like males and females and like to have a small staff team. We are not keen on bossy people as we do like to do things in our time, and we most certainly are not keen on people who do not smile or laugh Other important information? We have one support worker each day. However, if we having some one on one time then there will be 2 support workers The shifts are from 9 .00am to 7.00pm although the shifts are flexible depending on what we are doing We like our support to have effective communication skills as we do love to chat. Support staff need to be clear and direct in what you are asking or telling us as we can neglect ourselves especially with personal care and appearance. We need support staff who have patience as sometimes we are not able to express what we are saying in a manner that is clear to you. We are happy to repeat ourselves till you understand what we are saying Your values: We know it takes a special person to work in social care and we recognise that not everyone that would be perfect for the role, will have professional experience.
