The Script Secretary provides administrative assistance to the production team/s to ensure the smooth and efficient running of productions THE ROLE Are you a stickler for accuracy? Do you find yourself spotting inconsistencies and picking up on continuity issues when you're watching TV? The Script Secretary supports our team of Script Supervisors. Working with 4 to 6 Script Supervisors at a time, they assist with getting everything ready for filming. This is an admin heavy role and can include typing up amendments, compiling camera scripts and cards, organising parking and distributing scripts around the set and galleries. The successful candidate will be meticulously and instinctively organised. You will enjoy administrative work and be confident using a computer and learning new systems such as Scriptwriter and Silvermouse. You will be able to prioritise tasks and work across multiple projects simultaneously. You will be able to spot errors, typos and spelling mistakes, maintain comprehensive filing systems, and accurately implement changes and updates to key documents. As a key support role, we need someone to be based in the EastEnders production office at Elstree, 5 days per week. Assessment for this role will be 21st January 2025 at Elstree Studios. Unfortunately we're not able to be flexible with this so please ensure you are available to attend before applying. Reporting to the Series Script Supervisor, responsibilities include: • Learn from and assist the Series Script Supervisor and team of Script Supervisors with administrative and organizational tasks • Compile script amendments working to multiple script editors at any given time • Create camera scripts, camera cards and issue additional script amendments • Type up the Director's camera script into Scriptwriter, often working to a tight deadlines • Compile camera scripts and camera cards for pick up days • Train and offer regular support to Script Supervisors using the EastEnders script software, Scriptwriter • Assist the Post-Production Co-ordinator with post-production paperwork using Silvermouse • Maintain a comprehensive filing system, including regularly updating key documents, to ensure quick retrieval of information • Provide support to other members of the production as required; reporting conflicting priorities to the Series Script Supervisor • Take primary responsibility for maintaining the production office, liaising with the technology service desk, facilities and team assistants where required. • Undertake training where necessary to update relevant skills and knowledge WHAT DOES IT TAKE? ESSENTIAL CRITERIA: An informed interest in television drama production, with a demonstrable passion for EastEnders Awareness of the role of Script Supervisor, key skills required and a specific interest in pursuing a career in Script Supervising Experience of working in a demanding administrative position Experience of working with a variety of IT software, including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
