As our business develops, we now require a Standardisation Manager working within an educational and training organisation to support the Head of Quality in adhering to all internal/external quality assurance requirements for Awarding Organisations (AOs). You will also support the Head of Quality in implementing robust quality assurance (QA) systems across the charity and embedding a culture of continuous improvement, particularly in regard to assessment and internal verification.
We are a long established and well respected UK based not for profit organisation, with our Head Office based in Frimley and are a leading vocational organisation within the education and learning sector. We can offer a salary up to £35k, Mon to Fri working hours and a hybrid working schedule, 2 days office and 3 days WFH upon successful completion of your 3 month probationary period. We can also consider applicants seeking to work 4 days per week only. We have free on site parking and 23 days holiday plus bank holidays and a contributory pension scheme. The role would suit candidates with proven experience in a quality setting within the educational, training or learning sectors.
Internal Quality Assurance Duties
1. Responsible for ensuring the standard of assessment, internal verification (internal quality assurance) of all CV College qualifications, awards and programs.
2. Responsible for planning and running formal and informal standardisation meetings across the curriculum department, ensuring that standards of assessment and verification are maintained.
3. Responsible for monitoring the assessment and verification process within the organisation and for maintaining a system to monitor assessment and internal verification practice.
4. Required to produce effective reports on progress and use feedback to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
5. Working with HR, you will be responsible for recruiting and managing all assessors, internal verifiers, mentors and internal quality assurers for each of the curriculum departments and keep an up to date register of all assessors and verifiers.
6. Ensure that all assessors and internal verifiers are suitably trained and that these standards are maintained year on year (CPD).
7. Carry out assessment and verification to Level 4 standard or above.
8. Responsible for producing/updating/monitoring all quality policies and procedures on an annual basis regarding assessment and internal verification.
9. Responsible for overseeing the complaints and plagiarism policies and monitoring/reporting if and when these occur.
10. Required to undergo annual training from AOs to ensure your knowledge and skills remain current.
11. Responsible for developing resources for assessors and internal verifiers (e.g., handbook).
12. Expected to recommend and communicate ideas for developing systems and practice.
13. Be prepared to work towards further professional qualifications to enhance your skills and knowledge.

6. Ability to use all IT systems specific to job role including HR Toolkit.
To be successful you should have the following skills and experience:
Essential
1. Must have an understanding of the UK education system, particularly vocational qualifications.
2. Must have experience of quality management within the education sector.
3. Must have assessment and internal verification qualifications and suitable, current experience.
4. Must be qualified at Level 4 or above, or be able to demonstrate qualification through experience.
5. Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel (intermediate), particularly in the use and interpretation of data.
6. Must be able to analyse and summarise reports (e.g., Government and awarding organisation reports).
7. Must be able to work under the guidance of the Head of Quality, with other managers.
8. Must have English and Maths at GCSE level A*C (or Level 9-4 if appropriate) and be confident with numeracy and literacy.
9. Good verbal and written communications skills and the ability to relate to people at all levels.
10. Effective interpersonal skills including tact and diplomacy.
11. Ability to work accurately with a good attention to detail.
12. Ability to successfully prioritise work to meet deadlines.
13. The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Desirable
1. Experience of working within a Virtual Learning Environment is desirable but not a requirement.
2. Knowledge and or experience of working in the charity sector.
3. Knowledge and or experience of working in the voluntary sector.
